Diane Kruger always kills it with her hair.
The majority of the time it’s swept to one side in a loose fishtail plait or sculpted waves, as seen as the Met Ball. Whatever the style it never looks contrived. She wears it well. We likey.

We’ve been watching the US go mad for feather extensions. You Tube and Twitter are awash with buying and applying. Hairfriend says they are getting tones of requests in her NYC salon.
In the UK Feather Ray will apply hair feathers via pop-ups at at festivals or visit them here.

This Friday we are following DaVinci’s Barber, theevolving inspiration storyboard of John Alanouf, a VERY busy stylist in CA. John juggles working at the uber-futuristic Shanghai salon, is artistic consultant for Davinés Haircare, blogger and founder of an independent artistic education team called The Netwerk.
Where do you get your hair inspiration?
Just about everywhere. Hairdressing isn’t just a job for me. It’s really more of an artistic perspective. I see the world, cultures, art, music, lifestyle, philosophy, characters and patterns through a hairdressing filter. The classic works of Vidal Sassoon and Toni&Guy are the foundation for my technique and aesthetic.  My teammates at The Netwerk are also a huge factor in motivating me and helping me act on my ideas. And Tim Hartley, who had left Sassoon to become the Davinés global visionary artist took me on as his personal assistant for 5 years. That experience shaped me considerably.
What’s your current hair obsession?
Simplicity/minimalism in general. I prefer strong, deliberate shapes that glorify the natural hair and allow for an effortless look. Something that is, by nature, an extension of the person. I really believe in the old Sassoon slogan: “the cut is the style”. I lean to the blunt side of the artistic spectrum.
What are your top 3 hair products?
Dede Mist leave-in conditioner, Glam Power hairspray and Defining Gloss shine spray. All from Davinés Haircare.
Which stylists are your ones to watch and why?
Tim Hartley, Antoinette Beenders, Mark Hayes and Angelo Seminara off the top of me head. I feel like they all have such identifiable styles that I know it when I see it. They are super relevant masters of imagery and art direction in general.

Hills star Lauren Conrad recently launched The Beauty Department, a visual feast of a blog, created in collaboration with her hairstylist Kristen Ess.
It’s a considered concept - Lauren provides the model looks and celeb pulling power, Kristen brings her expertise and graphic designer Bri Emery has made the site look oh so pretty. We predict a branded product line is around the corner…

Great new illustrator featured on Rebecca Minkoff’s Tumblr.
Mexican Carlos Guerrero works under the moniker of ‘Prince Lauder’ - as you do. Like Nikki Farquharson, he uses mixed media as the basis of his beautiful drawings of modern-day beauties such as Abbey Lee.

Brief apologies for the lack of posting. A combination of UK bank holidays and surprise sunshine has hampered High Roller’s blogging. But we are back with a Follow Friday about Cut Your Damn Hair. Curated by Erin, a 19 year old Taurean art student from Midwest America, it’s by far the best blog dedicated to short hair.
Where do you get your hair inspiration?
LOOKBOOK, Twin cities culture, Tumblr and indie rock.
Who are your hair heroes?
Tegan & Sara Quin, Nicole Richieiiiii, Karen O. of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
What’s your current hair obsession?
Sloppy pin-up, volume and peekaboo color.
What’s your relationship with your hair and why?
It’s a give and get kinda thing. I take care of it - it performs. My hair is naturally curly and I love being able to wear it both ways. Of course we’ve had our ups and downs (including chemical relaxing, bleaching, self-haircuts) but it’s a lot more of a mature, respectful relationship these days.
What’s your most memorable hairstyle you’ve had and why?
This would most likely be the teal underneath-bangs I rocked with my asymmetrical ‘do. Good times.

Hello Summer. Hello neon lips and L’Oreal Studio Line Wet Gel.
Hard to pull off on the high street…. but a rocking look for Pooldisco @ Shoreditch House this bank holiday.

Reasons to love Drew Barrymore…
1)    She looks stunning with red hair (and she’s dyed it the same coppery-red everyone did at school aged 14)
2)    The girl’s a festival veteran – check out those Coachella photos
3)    She doesn’t appear to give a crap what anyone thinks
Respect.

I found a great hair blog recently - Hair Folder. Its author is Jess a fashion art director at an advertising agency in Australia. After rocking up at her hairdressers with mood boards full of looks, her friends began requesting their own bespoke visual references for their next haircuts. Hence Hair Folder was born two months ago as their (and her) online hairspiration.

Where do you get your hair inspiration?
I get my hairspiration from lots of different places…many a google image search if it’s for something specific, Zac fashion blog as well as the mounds of images that come through my reader. Wildfox often have great hair in their shoots. Other tumblrs, the agency websites of the photographers and stylist that I work with. I love love love Antonella Arismendi’s work (above). She’s a photographer/art director who always seems to feature beautiful hair in her images. Also a lot of the partially styled shots from behind the scenes at the fashion shows…they have that perfectly done-but-not-done look.

What are your top 3 hair products?
My favourite products are ones you can’t see…one of my pet hates is being able to see product in peoples hair. I really like Batiste dry shampoo…the Tropical flavour smells so good I could eat it from the can. My crimper I just bought is a new fav…I crimp my roots to give volume and texture. And Schwarzkopf OSIS+ Dust It…tiny bit of powder…huge amount of texture.
Who are your hair heros?
My current hairlust is all about Abbey Lee. I’ve been following her hair journey somewhat obsessively – from long wavy textured to pink tipped ombre to getting the chop into a fringed lob then bleaching white and most recently a faux-bowl cut in an editorial shoot. She can’t go wrong. And I love her fringe.
